they say nothing will change

but words are proof

of so much more

a man will teach you

when words are spoken

they’re hardly ever simple

they pierce skin deep when told

funny as a mere string of letters

funnier they don’t do damage control

words are mischevious

they will flail

dance to their own wreaked havoc

irking those

who are far from bold

in permanence

they are transient

bathing in fleeting memory

flowing through seething energy

setting a breeding ground

for thoughts

that only stir calamity

so when they say nothing will change

they mean things really will

because in due time

words will leave you in disarray

knotted where

confusion prevails

and you’ll be left

with no words at all
